Obituary for Robert Allen Donahue

Robert Allen Donahue “Bob”, age 74, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2023 at Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital in Browns Mills.

Bob was born on June 20, 1948 to the late Patricia and John Donahue in Camden, NJ. He was a 1966 graduate of Pennsauken High School and then went on to serve a tool and die apprenticeship at Pennsauken Vocational School until 1969. Bob proudly served our country in the United States Army Reserves from 1969 to 1975. He went on to become the owner of Progressive Tool and Gage from 1975 to 1992. Then from 1992 to 2005 he was the owner of President Rotary Die Systems in Moorestown. From 2005 until 2017 Bob was the owner of United National Machine Tool. Bob traveled extensively for business all over the U.S. and Canada. He enjoyed sports and played semi-professional baseball for the Burlington Mets from 1967 to 1969. He was an avid Eagled and Phillies fan. 1988-1994 bell ringing band booster at Pennsauken High School. Loved seeing the boys perform in all of the band competitions and freezing sitting till the wee hours in the mornings for them to perform. Once a band booster He was a man of a few words with a very dry sense of humor. He loved his family and friends and would do anything for anyone but didn’t seek any recognition. He will be truly missed by all.

Bob is predeceased by his son, Philip A. Donahue and his brother, Patrick J. Donahue. He is survived by his loving wife, Maureen (nee Phillips); his children, Sean Donahue (Brenda) and Keith Donahue (Alicia); his daughter-in-law, Marybeth Donahue; grandchildren, Caitlin, Brittany, Blake, Shane, Charley and Leonardo; niece and nephew, Summer and Mikey Donahue. He loved his personal baker, Paula and all her jokes.

Relatives and friends are invited to Bob’s visitation on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 8:30AM to 10:30AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 1603 Marne Highway, Hainesport, NJ 08036. Interment private at the request of the family.
