Obituary for Robert Bryan "Bob" Moorer

Robert Bryan Moorer “Bob”, of Moorestown, NJ, passed away on November 11, 2021 in the company of his loving family.

Bob was born on December 15, 1949 in Mount Holly, NJ. He worked as an elevator mechanic for The Penn City Elevator Company, owned by his father, and was a member of the National Elevator Industry Local 5 for 47 years. He started working for his dad during the summers as early as his high school years. He then worked as an elevator mechanic apprentice after graduating from college, to become a certified Elevator Construction Mechanic and proceeded his father as owner and president and worked in partnership with his brother-in-law, Rick Templeton, until December 2020. Bob will be remembered by his co-mechanics as a “great boss”, and was very well loved and respected by his colleagues. Bob attended and graduated Moorestown High School in the class of 1968. He was a team member on the high school’s basketball team. He spent one year at Clemson University and then graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1972. Bob was known as an easy-going, fun, loving guy. He enjoyed sailing, golfing and cycling with his wife, Maureen, where they would be seen cycling locally, also annually riding the MS City to Shore, and went on many vacation adventures. He was a member of the Riverton Yacht Club and the Moorestown Field Club for many years. He instilled his love for music in his sons and he will be remembered for always having a good joke to share.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents the late Pellham C. Moorer and Patricia (Nee Weiford) Moorer. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Maureen McChesney Moorer; sons Andrew Moorer, and Craig Moorer; his sisters, Susanne Reis (Ray), Peggy Lou Welch (Tim), and Pamela Templeton (Rick). Bob leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10am to 11am on Saturday, December 11 at Trinity Episcopal Church located at 207 W. Main Street, Moorestown, NJ 08057.
