Obituary for Sabino A. "Lefty" Piacenza

Sabino A. “Lefty” Piacenza, age 92, of Hainesport, NJ passed away while surrounded by loving family on Thursday, February 21, 2019.

Mr. Piacenza was born in Harrison, NY and was raised in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Hainesport. Lefty was an avid baseball fan and loved both the Dodgers and the Yankees. He was known as a very simplistic man and an extremely loyal friend. But above all else, he cherished the time spent with family and will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind.

Sabino was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Ann Sperrazza (survived by her loving husband, Robert Sperrazza). He is survived by his beloved wife, Antoinette Piacenza (nee D’Attoma); son, Marc Piacenza; grandchildren, Eric, Caitlin, Andrew; great grandchildren, Ariana, Michael, Sofia, Eva, Ella, Tess; sister, Anna Cit; brother, Sal Viscuso; son-in-law, Robert Sperrazza; and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 26th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. A subsequent viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 27th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM immediately followed by mass of the Christian burial, both at Our Lady Queen of Peace RC Church, 1603 Marne Highway, Hainesport, NJ. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
