Obituary for Shirley Marie Bronczyk (Smith)
Shirley Marie Bronczyk (nee Smith), age 86, of Medford, NJ passed away in the comfort of her own home while surrounded by loving family on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
Shirley was born in Northampton, PA and had resided in Mt. Laurel, NJ before moving to Medford in 2019. Shirley was a charter member and first President of the Parkway School PTA in Mount Laurel. She was a licensed real estate broker and served on the Mount Laurel Planning Board from 1992 to 1994. Shirley worked as an ER Nurse, Pediatric Nurse and ended her career at Garden State Hospital where she was an OR Nurse. Her hobbies included gourmet cooking, sewing, knitting and she was a passionate reader. She loved to travel the world and was an avid bridge player and served as secretary and Co-Chair of the South Jersey Bridge League. Shirley supported Arthur through law school while working as an RN and raising children. But above all, she cherished the time spent with family and friends, and will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind.
Shirley was predeceased by her beloved spouse in 2019, Arthur F. Bronczyk as well as her son, Douglas Bronczyk (Marcey) and great-grandson, Nathan Bronczyk. She is survived by her children, Gregory Bronczyk (Ann) and Catherine McQuade; sister, Carolyn Mack (Terry); grandchildren, Rebecca, Frederick, Sean, Matthew (Leah), Ayden, Skylar (Austin), Jamie (Sam), Christopher (Gennavie); great-grandchildren, Emma, Carter, Haley, and Freyja.
A viewing will be held on January 22, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Mt. Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Rd, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated on January 23, 2021 at 10:30 am at Our Lady Good Counsel Church, 42 W. Main Street, Moorestown, NJ.
