Obituary for Susan Marie Barber (Hoxie)

Susan Marie Barber (nee Hoxie), 63, of Moorestown, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, with her loving family at her side.

She was the daughter of George and Mary Hoxie, and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She married her high school sweetheart, Brian Barber, in 1978, and together they were blessed with two children, daughter Blair and son Bruce.

Sue made significant contributions to the financial services industry during a 30-plus year career where she held various leadership roles at some of the country’s largest companies, including JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and most recently, Wells Fargo. She was known as a trailblazer during her career journey and was passionate about the teams she led as well as the customers they served.  In addition, she was a mentor for many young women throughout her career and was a wonderful friend always willing to lend a helping hand.

Family was incredibly important to Sue, and she cherished her time with them.  They enjoyed time spent at the Jersey Shore where they made countless memories together.  Her grandchildren, Shelby and Blake, were the apple of her eye, and they lovingly referred to her as Sue-Sue. When she found time, she enjoyed reading and traveling, especially around Europe.  Sue cherished her many lifelong friendships and loved entertaining them at the shore house and experiencing many great adventures while traveling together.

Sue lived her life to the fullest believing each day was a gift.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Brian; daughter Blair Mauger and her husband Scott and their children, Shelby and Blake; son Bruce Barber and his wife, Carolyn; siblings George Hoxie, Catherine Hoxie and Terry Daniels; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, George and Mary Hoxie.

Relatives and friends are invited to Sue's visitation on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ  08054.  Memorial service will follow at 1PM.
