Obituary for Susan Anne Browning
Susan Anne Browning, age 81, passed peacefully surrounded by her children on November 24, 2021.
Susan was born on February 18, 1940 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to Virginia H. and Don E. Browning. She was the oldest of six children. She is predeceased by her brothers Don and Gene. She is survived by her beloved sister Connie Bailey and her brothers Bill and Bob Browning and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother to Don G., Jon D. (Tina) and Gail (Donna) Shelly and grandmother to Megan, Brooke, Katelyn and Jonathan and great grandmother to Mason and Johnny.
Susan graduated from Edmunds High School in Sumter, South Carolina in 1958 and attended Winthrop College until marrying and raising her family. She was a trained hairdresser, avid reader, wonderful cook, talented seamstress and snazzy dresser. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and picking crabs over a cold beer. She will be missed.
