Obituary

Theodore McCracken, age 88, passed away on January 17, 2020 in Marlton, NJ surrounded by those he loved most. Ted, a proud Marine, was a man of conviction and kindness.

He was born and raised in Philadelphia and has been a resident of Mount Laurel for the past 40 years. He was an avid Phillies fan and loved to spend time at Willowbrook Country Club where he worked and golfed. More than anything he loved to make people laugh, if something filled his life the most it was joy. Ted was a friend to everyone. The most important part of his life was with his family and he cherished every minute with them. He will be remembered as a man who never complained and always put others first.

Ted was predeceased by his daughter, Margaret Ballerini. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathleen McCracken (nee Bosch); his daughters, Kathleen McCracken (Don Buesing) and Patricia Calega (Robert); his grandchildren, John (Brett), Nicole (Kyle), Joseph, Daniel (Jamie) and Zachary and his great grandchildren, Michael and Vincent.

As were Ted’s wishes, Service and Interment will be private. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ted’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate/ or at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

We are all so sad for you loss! Mr McCracken was a patient at our dental office and was well loved by all. He never came in without a few new jokes to share. His smiling face will be surely missed. He was definitely my favorite patient. Sincerely, Linda O’Connor

Just heard the news about my man Teddy "Hydro" McCracken. Very sad news and I pray for his whole family. Some of the greatest memories I have working at Willowbrook as a kid are with my man Teddy. He was an INCREDIBLE man who ALWAYS had a smile on his face. I always knew the day was going to be a great day when I saw Teddy at the course. As I grew up I always came back to visit at Willowbrook. Everyone out at the club was an extendended member of my family as I worked there for 5 years. It was the gold course I grew up on. Teddy will forever be a part of that. His phone number was saved in my phone as Hydro since that's the name we had for him from washing all of the golf carts together over the years. Here's a picture from the last time I saw Teddy. I had the honor to play a round of golf with him and my Dad at Golden Pheasant. Sending prayers especially to Danny. He was a great kid and anytime I saw Teddy I always asked about Danny to see how he was doing. Ted's face always lit up when we talked about Danny. I would imagine it was the same when he talked about all of his other grandkids. RIP Hydro. Shatanyava!!!!!

Uncle Ted is the person who got me a job with Bell of Pennsylvania back in 1977. I can’t thank him
Enough for providing me the opportunity to grow with the company and afford me the capability to retire after 41 years. More recently, having lunch with him has been very memorable. He will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace Uncle Ted. Love you

To the McCracken Family: My family was saddened to hear of the passing of "Uncle Ted". He was such a good guy with memories of him giving our family our two dogs, Jiggs and Tramp. I'll always remember him coming to my Dad's viewing two years ago. It meant a lot to us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. With love, "Aunt Evie", Ray, and Maureen, The Andres Family.
