Obituary for Thomas Joseph Hill Sr.

Thomas J. Hill, Sr., age 76, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Thomas was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He and his family lived in the Rhawnhurst section of Philadelphia for over 72 years before moving to Mount Laurel, New Jersey 4 years ago. Thomas served in the U.S. Marine Corps before attending and graduating from LaSalle College with a Master's in Business Administration. He worked as an Accountant for Manor College in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania before his retirement in 2012. In his free time, Tom loved watching his favorite sports teams (Phillies, Sixers & Eagles), enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Thomas is proceeded in death by his parents, Thomas Russell and Ivanora Hill (nee O’Brien) and two sisters, Mary Weidner and Joan Litterer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie E. Hill (nee Heller); their children, Jennifer M. Monroe (Monte), Thomas J. Hill, Jr. (Kelley), and Kenneth R. Hill (Jill); grandchildren, Nicholas, Brittney, and Stephanie Monroe, Thomas and Catherine Hill, Olivia, Allison, and Kenneth Hill Jr. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Ed Weidner and Tom Litterer, including several nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends are welcome to a viewing on Wednesday, January 27th from 10:00AM-12:00PM, followed immediately by a funeral service. Both will be held at Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. A memorial luncheon will be held from 1-4pm at Carlucci’s Waterfront, 876 Centerton Rd., Mount Laurel, NJ. We are asking if possible (but not required) to notify an immediate family member if you are planning on attending the luncheon.

On Friday, January 29th, Tom will be laid-to-rest at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newton, PA. All are welcomed to attend the military funeral ceremony where the United States Marine corps will play Taps and present the burial flag to Marie. This will take place at 9:00 am sharp!
