Obituary for William Francis "Bill" McCormack
William (Bill) Francis McCormack, age 79, passed away while surrounded by his loving family on
Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
Born in Hoboken, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Vera McCormack. He resided in Medford, NJ before his current residence of 29 years, Cherry Hill, NJ.
In his earlier years, he enjoyed lifeguarding at the Darlington Country Club. He played football for LSU and continued his education at Seton Hall University. Bill also played football for the New York Giants as a proud second string wide receiver for 2 seasons. He worked for Becton Dickinson for 35 years as Regional Manager, before his retirement in 2000. Bill was a member of both the Lacey Elks Lodge and Marina and Little Mill Country Club. In 2017, Bill was inducted into the Seton Hall Preparatory School Swim Team Hall of Fame. Bill loved skiing, golfing, gardening, vacationing and boating, especially at the Key Harbor Marina in Waretown, NJ. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
William is predeceased by his son, Matthew McCormack, and his brother Thomas McCormack. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann McCormack; children, Kathleen VanVoorhis, Jennifer Reardon, William McCormack, Jr., Richard Ludwig, Christopher McCormack, Patricia Emerle, Christina Gambino, and his grandchildren; Alexis Urso, Rhiannon VanVoorhis, Douglas Reardon, Matthew McCormack, Jr., Tyler McCormack, Michael Emerle, Olivia Reardon, Nicole Emerle, Brianna Reardon, Benjamin Emerle, Timothy McCormack, Daniel Emerle, Mia Gambino, Lucio Gambino, Riley Ludwig, and Sofia Gambino; and great grandchildren Joey Urso, Nicholas Urso, and Grace Donahue.
Family and friends are welcome to a visitation on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Rd, Mt Laurel, NJ 08054. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 100 Willow Bend Rd, Marlton, NJ 08053. Interment will be at Jesus, Bread of Life Cemetery in Mt Laurel, NJ.
