Obituary for William Joseph Taylor Jr.
William Joseph Taylor, Jr., of Falls Church, VA passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019. He was 83 years old.
Mr. Taylor was born in Flushing, NY to William Joseph Taylor, Sr. and Julia Ellen Taylor (nee Gibbons). He had previously resided in Falls Church, Virginia before moving to Mount Laurel last year. Mr. Taylor was a devout Roman Catholic. He worked most recently as a professor of criminal justice at Excelsior College, in Albany, NY. He enjoyed Irish music, was an avid sports fan (Go ‘Skins!), and had a larger than life personality. There wasn’t a person who met him that did not feel his warm heart and enjoy his big smile when he made them laugh.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Julia (nee Hollman); children, William D. Taylor (Ariana Urbont) and Colleen A. Burns (William); sisters, Jeanne Taylor, Pat Hughes, and Julia McCrory; and grandchildren, Lily Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Scarlett Taylor, Thomas Burns, and Julianne Burns.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday, June 3, 2019, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel. A second viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 402 Kings Highway, North, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. The funeral mass will immediately follow, also at Christ Our Light Catholic Church. Final disposition will be private.
