Cremation Service Information

When choosing cremation, it is important not only to capture the memories and celebrate the spirit of your loved one, but also to facilitate the healing process by gathering together, paying tribute, and celebrating a life well lived. Our primary mission is to ensure that this special, emotional, and essential time for healing receives the utmost attention. We are here to provide guidance and knowledge, lighting the path as you commemorate the life of your loved one. We offer the following Cremation Services:

Viewing (open casket): A viewing is the time when family and friends come to see their loved one after he/she has been prepared by the funeral home. A viewing may be private with only immediate family members, or public with extended family and friends. Following the viewing, a religious or non-religious funeral ceremony may be held. Your loved one is then brought to the crematory. Your loved one’s cremated remains may be buried in a cemetery, placed in a columbarium or mausoleum niche, kept at home, scattered on private property, or scattered at least 3 miles offshore.

Visitation with Funeral Service (closed casket): A visitation is the time when family and friends come to honor their loved one without a viewing. The visitation may be held for immediate family members only, or with extended family and friends. A religious or non-religious funeral ceremony may be held after the visitation. Your loved one is then brought to the crematory. Your loved one’s cremated remains may be buried in a cemetery, placed in a columbarium or mausoleum niche, kept at home, scattered on private property, or scattered at least 3 miles offshore.

Visitation with Memorial Service: For this option, your loved one is cremated prior to the visitation. A religious or non-religious memorial service is then held for family and friends. The urn containing your loved one’s cremated remains may or may not be present for the visitation and service. After the service, your loved one’s cremated remains may be buried in a cemetery, placed in a columbarium or mausoleum niche, kept at home, scattered on private property, or scattered at least 3 miles offshore.

Memorial Service: For this option, there is no visitation for your loved one. A religious or non-religious memorial service is held for family and friends, during which time the urn containing your loved one’s cremated remains may or may not be present. After the service, your loved one’s cremated remains may be buried in a cemetery, placed in a columbarium or mausoleum niche, kept at home, scattered on private property, or scattered at least 3 miles offshore.

Direct Cremation: For this option, there is no viewing, visitation, or ceremony for your loved one. Your loved one is brought to the crematory for cremation, and the cremated remains are returned to you or the designated funeral agent.
