Send Flowers John Coates February 7, 2016 John J. Coates, age 90, of Franklinville, NJ (formerly of Mount Laurel, NJ) passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Coates was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and had resided in Willingboro, NJ and Mount Laurel, NJ before moving to Franklinville. He was a very active member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Willingboro, NJ where he was also a former trustee and usher. John also was a member of the Knights of Columbus. John was known as a family man, always going above and beyond for his loved ones. Utilizing his knowledge of construction, woodworking and sheet metal mechanics he helped construct and personalize all of his children’s homes. When it came to his grandchildren, he never missed a sporting event and he reveled in teaching them how to optimally play cards. In his leisure, he enjoyed puzzles and watching the boats on the bay pass by. Mr. Coates is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary; children, Janet Yansick (Walter), James (Nancy), June Stengel (William), John (Kim), Joann Coates; grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Jacklin, Lauren, Jamie, Michael; great-grandchildren, Alivia and Malin; sister-in-law, Rita. He was predeceased by his siblings, Eleanor Metzger and Joseph Coates. Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Thursday, February 11 th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM immediately followed by the funeral liturgy both at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 11 South Sunset Road, Willingboro, NJ 08046. Interment will take place at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John’s name may be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital in Philadelphia, PA at www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
