Obituary for Anna Snyder (Slamka)

Anna Snyder (nee Slamka), of Delran, NJ passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, surrounded by love in her home, after living a long and blessed life. She was 98 years old.

Mrs. Snyder was born in the village of Castkov in the former Czechoslovakia to Martin Slamka and Zuzana Slamka (nee Jurica). She immigrated to NYC in 1937 and eventually found her true love at a USO dance in 1941. They would stay together for the next 62 years. They started a family in New York Snitty then eventually moved to Mt Laurel in 1965. Shortly after moving, Mrs. Snyder began her most rewarding and best suited job- doting grandma. It was a job she was born for and one she never retired from. She was a devoted member of Martin Luther Chapel, in Pennsauken, NJ. In her leisure time she enjoyed world travel, gardening, cooking, playing Pinochle, and pulling the slots in Atlantic City.

Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stephen L. Snyder; her daughter, Eileen Ann Hahn; and her siblings, Mary, Martin, and Paul Slamka. Surviving are her four grandchildren, James Hahn (Lori), Gary Hahn (Kristen), Eric Schwartz (Cari), and Bryan Schwartz; and 2 great-grandchildren, Zachary and Emma Lee Hahn, who will miss their Baba very much.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018, at 11:30 AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
