Obituary for Charles Heaney

CHARLES ‘BUD’ HEANEY Charles Richard, 89 of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, died Tuesday January 14, 2014 at Lutheran Care at Moorestown. Bud was born in Philadelphia and lived in Trevose, PA before moving to Mount Laurel 58 years ago. He was a Truck Driver for 36 years retiring in 1991 having worked for James D. Morrissey in Philadelphia. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Feasterville, PA. Bud honorably served his country in the United States Army during WWII, spending time in Japan, Guam and the Philippines. Bud is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie (nee Coakley); daughters Beverly Walker and Brenda Gale Heaney; grandchildren Brent Walker (Lauren), Lindsay Walker and Bradley Walker; great grandchildren Marissa Marie, Malia Gale and Dennis Caleb; Siblings Jean Seltzer, Robert, Donald and Larry Heaney. Mr. Heaney was preceded in death by four children, Valerie, Richard, Lisa, Donna, and his son-in-law Dennis Walker. The viewing will be held on Sunday January 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Monday January 20th from 8:00 to 9:00 AM immediately followed by the 9:00 AM funeral service all at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Rd, Mount Laurel. Interment with military honors will be at Beverly National Cemetery, Edgewater Park, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bud can be made to St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Food Bank, 65 E. Street Road, Feasterville, PA 19053.
