Obituary for Diane Edmonds

DIANE FREIRE EDMONDS Diane Edmonds, 56, of Cinnaminson, NJ went to heaven suddenly due to natural causes on Thursday, December 26, 2013. Diane was born to Frank Freire and Adeline Signore in Jamaica, Queens, NY on July 16, 1956. She was happily married to John Edmonds for thirty-six years whom she loved and adored for forty-one years. While raising two sons, Diane held a number of jobs to help contribute to her family including a position as a librarian for Merchantville Elementary School, where she delighted in working with children. Diane worked tirelessly at a number of volunteer sites and charities. She served as an elementary school room parent for both her children, started a support group for new mothers who had left the workforce, and was a 1975 Recipient of the Home Economics Related Occupations Award. She also volunteered her time at the New Albany Elementary School library, where she organized school book sales for the Humanitees organization and set a record for funds raised. In 1998, the Cinnaminson Board of Education recognized her as a “special volunteer” for her tremendous efforts. Diane was a beautiful woman who showed unconditional compassion and love to everyone. She was always eager to lend a hand, often cooking, baking, or sewing for loved ones and strangers alike. She cared about others more than herself and her charitable spirit will live on in the many lives she has touched. Diane is survived by her husband John; two sons Michael and David; mother Della Freire; and sister Barbara Freire. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 31st from 9:45 to 10:45 AM, followed by the 11:00 AM funeral liturgy both at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, 2500 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson, NJ 08077.
