Obituary for Dorothy Brown

Dorothy C. Brown (nee Muldowney), 94, of Mount Laurel, NJ, previously a long time resident of Mount Ephraim, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at CareOne at Evesham Rehabilitation in Marlton, NJ. She shared a long and happy life with those fortunate enough to have met and known her. Dorothy, the youngest of ten, was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived in retirement in Ocala, Florida before moving back to Mount Laurel in 1999 to be with her family. Before and during retirement Dorothy and Harry enjoyed traveling visiting such places as Disney World, St. Augustine, Williamsburg, Bermuda, San Juan, and other warm water Caribbean spots. Dorothy was active in the Sacred Heart Parish in Mount Ephraim volunteering to help the with the school children. Ceramics was a favorite pass time. During the holidays, her ceramic gifts were often mistaken for store bought originals. Also, regardless of what they said, her notes and cards made you think that they were from a professional calligrapher, not just Dorothy. In 1995, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Harry K. Brown, Sr. Dorothy is survived by her son Harry, Jr. (Susan); grandchildren William R. Brown, Tracy Roskoph (John), Laurie Zwick, and Michael Kolwicz (Julie); four great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. The viewing will be held on Friday, September 25th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 AM on Friday at Saint John Neumann RC Church, 560 Walton Avenue, Mount Laurel, NJ. A private interment will take place at Beverly National Cemetery, where she will finally be reunited with her husband, LTC Harry K. Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dorothy’s name may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America at 8719 Colesville Road, Suite 100, Silver Spring, MD 20910 or at www.vva.org/support.
