Ernest (Ernie) is survived by his son Michael and wife Diane (Tucker) of Torrance, Ca; his daughter Sharon of Mt. Laurel, NJ and fiancé Fred Lambert; his grandchildren, Alyssa and Aimee of Torrance, Ca and his sister, Anna Marie (Mitzi) Ehritz of Allentown, PA. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Jeanette (Cedar) and brother Raymond. Ernie was born in Allentown, PA on February 10, 1934 to Rudolf and Anna (Bartolowitsch). He graduated from Allentown’s Central Catholic HS in 1951 and married his sweetheart Jeanette in 1956. Ernie served 2 years of active military service before receiving an Associate in Engineering degree from Penn State during 4 subsequent years of military reserve. He then completed his education by receiving a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers. Ernie was employed by the Union Carbide Corporation for 25 years where he applied his expertise to the fields of gas products and industrial cutting machines. He shares a patent in the field of arc welding. Ernest was a devoted husband and father to his wife Jeanette and children Michael and Sharon. He was an avid reader and sports fan and possessed a particular passion for the ponies. He became enamored with the sport during his years in upstate NY where he discovered the pageantry, beauty and excitement of the Saratoga Race track. Each summer he would set aside a few days in August for a road trip back to Saratoga where he would practice his own particular version of Zen. After the untimely death of his wife Jeanette, Ernie’s interests became more focused on providing care to his beloved daughter Sharon and enjoying the love of his two beautiful granddaughters. He was a quiet, spiritual man who was always kind and always the gentleman. He will be sadly missed by all including his nieces Carol and Charlotte, nephew Richard and his “extended” family of friends and neighbors. A viewing will be held on Friday, July 31st from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, July 31st at 11:30 AM at Saint John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, 560 Walton Ave., Mount Laurel, NJ.
