Obituary for Gerhard "Jerry" Stahmer Sr.

GERHARD E. C. STAHMER, SR.   Gerhard E. C. “Jerry” Stahmer, Sr., 85, of Mount Laurel, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA.   Mr. Stahmer was born in Ridley Park, PA and lived in Lester and Philadelphia before moving to Mount Laurel 19 years ago. He retired from the US Naval Reserve in 1990 after having served for 28 years.   He was preceded in death by his son, Scott G. and is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Ruth (nee Poulterer); sons, Gerhard E. Jr. (Jean) of Hainesport, NJ, Brian K. (Patricia) of Philadelphia; daughter, Melissa R. Watt (James) of Auburn, GA; grandchildren, Ashley N., Jennifer L., Patricia A., Christina M. and Scott G. Stahmer, Jr. and Bailey C. and Erin M. Watt; brother, William H. of Pompano Beach, FL; and sister, Margaret Foster (William) of Houston, TX.   A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 5th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM immediately followed by the funeral service all at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. Interment will be at Eldridge Cemetery in Mount Laurel. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Stahmer may be made to the Heritage Baptist Church, 530 Union Mill Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
