James Ker Newell, age 87, of Hainesport, New Jersey, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

Mr. Newell, known to most as Jim, was born in Riverside, New Jersey and had resided in Hainesport for over 60 years. He honorably served his country for eight years in the Seabees (the United States Naval Reserves). Jim Newell earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. He worked as a land surveyor for 65 years, and he was held in high regard in the industry. Jim was a longtime member of Easton Bible Church in Hainesport and was very active in the church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, Elder, Deacon, and Cemetery Committeeman.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Everitt, Charles, and H. Bertram Newell; and his sisters, Ruth Luethy and Joy Worth-Russell. Surviving are his wife of 61years, Miriam B.(Nee Bolich); children, James Newell, Jr. (Beth), Keith Newell (Laurie), Bruce Newell (Karin), Karen Noor, and Kathleen Dinkler (David); sister, Edna Bersin-James; grandchildren, Benjamin Newell (Stephanie), Brett Newell, Jeffrey Newell (Sophie), Caleb Newell (Donna), Andrew Newell, Peter Newell, Kristina Newell, Emily Newell, Kevin Newell, David Noor, Nadia Botkin (David), Nawelle Noor, Daniel Noor, Alyssa Dinkler, Rachel Dinkler, Cassandra Dinkler, Julie Dinkler, Matthew Dinkler, Luke Dinkler, Lana Dinkler, Susan Dinkler, and Marta Dinkler; and great-grandchildren, Sophia Newell, Wesley Newell, Katherine Botkin, Nehemiah Botkin, Martyn Botkin, and Evangeline Botkin.

A memorial service will be held at Easton Bible Church on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM preceded by visitation with the family beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment at Easton Bible Church Cemetery.
