Obituary for Marie Asper

Marie Elizabeth Asper (nee Walker), 69, of Hainesport, NJ passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 18, 2015. Mrs. Asper was born in Oaklyn, NJ and has resided in Audubon and Cherry Hill before moving to Hainesport. Marie was a graduate of Audubon High School. She was the originator and leader of the Mason Run 4-H Club for 33 years. She also established the Mason Run Farm in 1982, a riding academy that taught countless young people to ride and compete at all levels 4-H thru USEF Zone 2 and National Finals. Marie was an active member in the Burlington County 4-H committees and was co-founder of the Southern New Jersey Interscholastic Equestrian Association Team which went to National Finals in 2015. Her greatest love was her family, students and her horses. Marie is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Ronald Asper, MD; children, Charles, Frank, Nicole Grzib (Anthony), Danielle Robertson (Robert); sister, Laura Thompson; grandchildren, Bobbi, Ronald, Madison, Frank, Corina, Dominic, Marcus; and her dog, Susie Q. Friends and family are invited to the viewing on Thursday, October 22nd from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Final disposition will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marie’s name may be made to the Salvation Army at www.salvationarmyusa.org.
