Obituary for Marie Deola

Marie A. Deola found peace July 20, 2015, when she was welcomed into Heaven. Her husband, Joseph Deola, was by her side. Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 1, 1944, Marie Deola was the daughter of the late Michael and Madeline Towhey. She moved from Hainesport, NJ in 1996 to Mystic Island, NJ where she enjoyed many wonderful years with her husband and the love of her life, Joey. She was a member of the first class to graduate from Holy Cross High School and a former employee of Centennial Steel. Marie loved to dance-often the first to enter the dance floor and the last to leave…she would dance for hours. She loved making crafts. She enjoyed watching Nascar races, especially the race stopping wrecks. She also enjoyed the cooler weather, and her most memorable trip was the Alaskan Cruise she took with Joe. Marie is predeceased by her brother, William Towhey. She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Deola; her three children, Maddy Johnson (Glenn), Jim Bowman (Kim), Megan Chilton (Doug); two step-children, Jennifer Hale (Joe) and Becky Deola; brother, James Towhey; 15 grand-children, Jaden, Miranda, Drew, Owen, Ashton, Marley, Stephen, Katie, Tara, Brandon, Dougie, Anna, David, Jason and Amber; and one great grand-child, Scott. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, July 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, July 25th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. The memorial mass will be held on Saturday, July 25th at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 1603 Marne Highway, Hainesport, NJ. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mount Holly, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Marie’s name to be made to Meridian Hospice of Southern NJ, 80 Nautilus Drive, Manahawkin, NJ, 08050. Her family would like to thank the Make a Wish Foundation for providing the grandchildren with a Christmas in May and other thoughtful gifts for Marie and her family during a very difficult time in our lives. Marie wanted to especially thank Jessica and Louanne for the wonderful care they gave her. They were like family to her.
