Obituary for Maurice Baker

MAURICE F. BAKER Maurice Fay Baker, 85 of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, died Friday, August 21, 2015 at home. Mr. Baker was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and lived in Virginia before moving to Mount Laurel in 1952. He was a welder and sheet metal fabricator for more than 40 years having worked most of those years for Theodore E. Mozer Inc. in Palmyra, NJ. His talents enabled him to fabricate set pieces for the 50s television show, The Adam's Squad and a science fiction show from that era. He also made replica WWII machine guns and planes which were bought by Peter Jackson for use in his films. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and aircrafts. Mr. Baker was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Mount Laurel and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Ruthe (nee Shaud) Baker; sons, Tim (Anne), Charles and Philip Baker; as well as four grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Heritage Baptist Church, 530 Union Mill Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Interment will follow at Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ. Luncheon will follow interment at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heritage Baptist Church. Arrangements are by the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals.
