Obituary for Richard Sanderson

Richard J. Sanderson Richard James, 74, of Mount Laurel, New Jersey passed away on August 14, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Sanderson was born in Mount Holly, NJ, was raised in Burlington City, and lived in Willingboro, NJ for 30 years before moving to Mount Laurel 8 years ago. Mr. Sanderson honorably served his country in United States Navy. He worked for Public Service Electric and Gas for 20 years. Richard was the last surviving child of Mr. Harry Sanderson and his wife, Laura. He was also preceded in death by his wife Marjorie in 1993; He is survived by his children, Debbie Gibbs of Mount Laurel, Tammy Kolo of Mount Laurel, Vickie Kimball of Mount Holly, Robert Gibbs of Maine, Marjorie Finch of Atco, and Brenda Wisor of Phoenixville; his beloved grandchildren, Brooke Gibbs-Haff and Drew Gibbs who shared a residence with Richard; and 13 additional grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as his heart transplant team at Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and the family of Roberto Santa; and many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to his viewing on Wednesday August 19th from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Thursday, August 20th at Saint John Neumann RC Church, 560 Walton Avenue, Mount Laurel. Interment will be at the Mount Holly Cemetery, Mount Holly, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Richard Sanderson may be made to Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 N. 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123 or to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, “Heart Transplant Foundation” 3400 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
